Ok, I haven’t blogged in an insanely large amount of time. But truth be told, I’ve had surgery and have been in hospital for a while and I am now confined to bed rest, so unfortunately there has not been any time for any fashion escapades (a part from the sexy hospital gown). This will be the beginning of more consistent blogging, I promise.

As soon as I can make it out of bed and wear something other than Peter Alexander PJs.

So before the whole surgery excitement, I spent a day in Melbourne city with my mum and sister to see the 200 Years of Australian Fashion exhibition. Winter is beginning to kick in, which naturally I am overjoyed about because I can finally drag out the dozens of coats I irrationally purchased while op-shopping last summer. This one I wore is a particular favourite, and I purchased it on my trip to America last year from Zara. I love the round shape, the wide sleeves and the stiff, baby blue fabric that incorporates an asian influence. There’s so much ‘yes’ in one coat. Underneath I wore my comfort culottes and a basic turtleneck top, both in black to compliment the pattern of the coat. Despite the fact that I had to be wheeled around in a wheelchair for most of the day, I felt very comfortable with my look.

Scarf-day Friday

It seems as though fashion chokers are here to stay for a while longer, but I found something fancier to wear with my off-the-shoulder tops: a summer scarf. There always needs to be something worn around the neck with a top that exposes this amount of décolletage, and a summer scarf is perfect if you are not too fond of chokers or chunky jewellery. This lovely scarf was given to me by a group of friends a few years ago as a birthday present, and I have not really been capable of wearing summer scarves to my liking until recently. Little summer scarves have been a sneaky trend this autumn, usually added to an outfit to provide some colour and flair to avoid falling into the trap of wearing monotonous tones as the weather becomes colder. And doesn’t it make the day brighter! It also keeps my neck warm too.

These culottes are my favourite kind of pants, fundamentally because they are so remarkably comfortable. Since I haven’t been able to wear any jeans due to a soon-to-be-fixed hip condition, I have mainly been living in my culottes or loose-fitting dresses. Fortunately, it’s not hard to be stylish and comfortable these days!

Red Fingernails and LBD

I have found the perfect winter dress from Witchery. It may not be as elaborate as the gowns from last night’s Met Gala, but it does have velvet, metal studs and cheeky little splits in the skirt. A dress of this length just begged to be worn with my suede over-the-knee boots, and to fit within the theme of the Met Gala, I naturally wore my metallic silver Nine West bag. So I suppose I could describe it as the ’70’s sexy robot’ look.
